The Perfect Ribeye Steak

Its Grilling time Saltines

We all know steak is delicious, and there are a lot of ways to cook it, and a few to season it. My favorite combination is Spicy Unicorn salt and fresh ground peppercorn for my seasoning, ribeye for the cut, and reverse sear to cook. Unicorn and Spicy Unicorn are our go to salts because they are made with purple basil and do not overpower the great steak flavor, they unlock it.

When seasoning the steak you want to hit every part of the meat including the sides with salt and pepper. You can be pretty generous with the salt and I like to rub it in at the end.

Step 1: Season Your Steak

Generously season your steak with your favorite Summa Salts blend Allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Step 2: Low and Slow

Preheat your grill or oven to allow temperature (around 225°F or 110°C). If using a grill, set it up for indirect heat.

Step 3: Cook to the Core

Place your seasoned steak on the cooler side of the grill or in the oven and cook until it's about 110°F (use a meat thermometer to check). This will ensure even cooking. Usually about 40 minutes.

Step 4: Sear to Perfection

Once the internal temperature is right, transfer your steak to the hot side of the grill or a sizzling-hot skillet. Sear each side for a minute or two, just until a beautiful crust forms. Once again use tongs to sear even the sides of the steak, standing it up to do so. Trust me its worth it.

Step 5: Rest and Enjoy

Allow your steak to rest for a few minutes before slicing. This lets the juices redistribute, ensuring a tender, juicy result. Slice, serve, and savor!
